MY FRESH soap is what I have started.
MY FRESH soap is what I believe.
MY FRESH soap is the way I am living my life.
MY FRESH soap is organic, natural soaps and bath products.
How did My Fresh soap get started?
I knew that I wanted to create my own business and be in control of what I was using on me and my family. My passion for aromatherapy and therapeutic remedies led me to creating hand made candles, soaps and bath products. I use essential oils with beneficial properties designed for specific uses.
Who am I?
Born and raised in Québec, moved to Beautiful British Columbia in 1995. Moved back to Quebec in 2012. Worked in construction most of my life. Well, my adult life that is. Raised two beautiful boys, now men and have their own lives.
Why did I get started?
I wanted to get away from chemicals and all the additives with names we cannot pronounce. And I discovered I enjoy studying aromatherapy and the benefits of essential oils. By using the essential oils in my soaps, I don’t only make my soaps therapeutic; I reap the benefits of the oils by working with them on a daily basis.
Why use handcrafted natural/organic soap?
Because, it is gentle, soft, lathering and not hard on your skin. It leaves your skin soft and moisturized. Your skin will never be the same after using a natural/organic handmade soap. Natural soaps are very different than commercialize soaps. What you see in stores it is usually a detergent in a bar. Synthetic detergent was originally formulated during the war years when oils & fats for soap making were scarce in supply. Commercial soap that is actually soap is made with inexpensive oils and they remove the natural glycerin that is produced. You may ask why do they remove the glycerin? And the answer is because natural vegetable glycerin is humectants, and draws moisture to your skin. The commercial soap makers remove it and sell it to make glycerin soap and other skincare products. Often they will add cheap fillers, whiteners and synthetic fragrances. All these ingredients can be very irritating and drying to your skin. Your skin is your largest organ, and when you use soap without its natural glycerin your skin will dry out and lose its protective function.
The base of all my soaps is olive and coconut oil, two of the most moisturizing oils for your skin. And depending what type of soaps I will make I add, avocado oil, apricot kernel oil, cocoa butter, shea butter, hemp seed oil, jojoba oil, and more.
